Treble Album of the Week Mix

There's nothing more exciting to us than running our mouths about some great new album or song. Certainly, it's fun to argue about these albums and songs as well, and when it comes right down to it, this site exists primarily for the sake of recommending music. In spite of any cynicism, debate over hierarchal rankings in the greater scheme of popular music, and just plain disappointment, there's nothing more rewarding than finding a really kickass piece of music and letting the world know about it. This is why we have an Album of the Week. This is why we do `best of' lists. And this is why we publish our Album of the Week mix.

Of course, it was mostly just a periodical list at first, for the sake of keeping tabs. We eventually realized that there's no point in publishing a list of the best current songs without the possibility of anybody hearing them. So, we've made an attempt to rectify that with streams, videos, and mp3s, posted whenever available. Admittedly, they aren't always available, but we'd be remiss to not recommend such a great song anyway.

This month, we've got some great noise rock from Pissed Jeans and Parts & Labor, Britpop from Art Brut and Los Campesinos!, hip-hop from Common and Pharoahe Monch, spooky folk from Marissa Nadler, an epic from Okkervil River, and much more great stuff.
