The purpose of our periodic Album of the Week mix is two-fold. Firstly, it is a round-up of several of our recommended releases from the past few weeks, as that, after all, is the purpose of selecting an album of the week. While analyzing and getting to the kernel of an album is enjoyable as well, sometimes it's just more fun to take a minute and say, "hey, this album kicks ass." We merely take that one step further by highlighting a song from each album that just completely blew us away.

Of course, there is a second motivation for our Album of the Week mix, and that is to share media of those songs that blew us away. We've attempted to round up mp3s, videos, streams and live performances to illustrate our point that these tracks are essential. So here's another seventeen.
