The Court & Spark say 'Adios' - 10.04.2007

And apparently, they said it awhile ago. According to the band's website:

"It's hard to say that The C&S is breaking up, as we still spend all our time together, but seeing as how we're all involved in different musical projects, it seems best to retire the C&S name for a while. We've had a good run and have had the good fortune to meet all kinds of wonderful souls as we've stumbled down the road. Thank you one and all for everything you've given us."

So, take your copies of Dean Diamond River, Witch Season, and Hearts, and give them some tributary spins. Let's hope for future news on any Court & Spark related projects, eh?

Video: A Place to Bury Strangers - 10.04.2007
A Place to Bury Strangers' self-titled release hopefully will not turn out to be one of the most overlooked albums of 2007. Their video for "To Fix the Gash in Your Head" ought not to be overlooked as well:

Libertines' Time for Heroes - 10.04.2007

Are Carl Barat and Pete Doherty known as heroes? That's pretty negotiable. Are albums like Up the Bracket and The Libertines really really good? That's less negotiable. So, a best-of compilation featuring the Libertines' work as entitled Time for Heroes is legit.

Out October 29th in the UK and December 4th in the U.S., this 13-track compilation features tracks from the aforementioned albums plus some extra singles and B-sides:

01. Up the Bracket
02. Time for Heroes
