The 2019 Grammy nominations list has been announced, and it’s a diverse batch of artists. The categories have been expanded to include up to eight nominees, similar to a recent move by the Oscars. This year’s album of the year nominees include Kacey Musgraves’ Golden Hour, Drake’s Scorpion, Black Panther: The Album, Post Malone’s Beerbongs and Bentleys, Janelle Monáe’s Dirty Computer, Brandi Carlile’s By the Way, I Forgive You, H.E.R.’s H.E.R., and Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy.

There’s a lot of other interesting artists on the nomination list this year as well. Anderson .Paak’s “Bubblin'” is up against Cardi B, Drake, Jay Rock and Travis Scott for Best Rap Performance. Pusha T’s DAYTONA is on the list of nominees for Best Rap Album, along with Mac Miller, Nipsey Hussle, Travis Scott and Cardi B. Deafheaven’s “Honeycomb,” from Ordinary Corrupt Human Love, is nominated for Best Metal Performance, along with Underoath, Between the Buried and Me, High on Fire and Trivium. St. Vincent’s MASSEDUCTION is nominated for Best Alternative Album with Arctic Monkeys, David Byrne, Björk and Beck. And Jon Hopkins’ Singularity was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album, along with Justice, SOPHIE, TOKiMONSTA and Sofi Tukker.
