John Cale to perform Velvet Underground & Nico at Brooklyn Academy of Music

This year, The Velvet Underground‘s legendary debut album Velvet Underground & Nico turns 50, and to mark the occasion, founding member John Cale is performing a series of special shows for the anniversary. Tonight, he’s performing the album in Liverpool, England. But American audiences will also have an opportunity to attend a similar performance. John Cale will perform the album in its entirety at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York on November 16 and 17 as part of the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Next Wave Festival. And on the next night, November 18, Cale will also be performing a special concert of music from throughout his career to celebrate his 75th birthday. Next Wave Festival subscriptions go on sale on June 19 (June 5 for BAM members). Individual show tickets will go on sale August 7.
