Portland duo Jenny Haniver offer a doomy take on “Unsolved Mysteries”

Portland post-punk/noise rock duo Jenny Haniver, comprising Eric Nyffeler (Bus Gas) and Randall Taylor (AMULETS), have just released a new cover of a TV theme song that should be familiar to many listeners, and sufficiently creepy in a nostalgic way. The duo have created their own take on the Unsolved Mysteries theme music, offering an even heavier permutation of what’s already a pretty unsettling melody. (The Los Angeles Times seems to agree!). Jenny Haniver’s take on the song is part of a new two-song 7-inch EP, backed with “Know Body,” which is out today via LandLand Colportage.
The band said in a statement, “This song is the brutal, doomy cover of the Unsolved Mysteries theme song that you never knew you needed, but very much did need. An iconic song that has been scaring people for decades has been reworked for maximum impact.“
