Aesop Rock announces new album, Black Hole Superette

Aesop Rock has announced a new album. On May 30, he’ll release Black Hole Superette via Rhymesayers. The album features guest appearances from Armand Hammer, Lupe Fiasco, Open Mike Eagle, Homeboy Sandman and Hanni El Khatib. Today he’s released the first single, “Checkers,” which you can hear below.

“This is about the neighborhood outside your home being the great leveler,” Aesop Rock said of the song in a statement. “You can’t show up feeling one way because the world will show you otherwise.”

Aesop Rock’s last album was 2023’s Integrated Tech Solutions. It’s featured on our list of the Best Hip-Hop Albums of 2023.
