Dark Entries to release Patrick Cowley funk covers album

Dark Entries has announced an upcoming compilation of funk and disco covers from late disco producer Patrick Cowley. On October 19, the label will issue Some Funkettes, which features Cowley’s unique takes on tracks like The Temptations’ “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” (titled “Poppa Wuzza Rollinston”), a unique permutation of Herbie Hancock’s “Chameleon” (titled “Spiked Punch” here), Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” and People’s Choice’s “Do It Anyway You Wanna.” Hear some clips from the album below and check out the full tracklist as well.
