Neil Young has just announced a new album with his longtime band, Crazy Horse. A new post on the Neil Young Archives website has revealed that the next album will be titled COLORADO, and that the first single, titled “Rainbow of Colors” will be out this month.
“We are excited here at NYA!” the post reads. “The first track from COLORADO, our next Crazy Horse album, is coming out this month. Billy, Ralphie, Nils and I are all very happy to bring this song ‘Rainbow of Colors’ to you in all its ragged glory, as my original producer and life-long friend, the late David Briggs once said. 10 new songs ranging from around 3 minutes to over 13 minutes, will be coming your way. We hope you love this new album as much as we do.”
Additionally, a documentary film about the album’s creation, titled Mountaintop Sessions, will be released the same week as the album in October.
Neil Young’s last album was 2017’s The Visitor.
Neil Young’s Harvest, After the Gold Rush and On the Beach are all featured on our list of the Top 150 Albums of the ’70s.
